The coolest and the popular of course everyone’s favorite mobile photo sharing app has gone through some significant changes that has made this app more attractive and every social media user finds this app interesting with inclusions of some its new features.

Instagram was created in October 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, initially it was launched as an iphone app and in one month it has reached to 1 million users. Recognising the incredible value of the best conceptual app which reflects lifestyle of the people and places, Facebook purchased Instagram in April 2012 for approximately US$1 billion in cash and stock.

Here are some interesting features of Instagram which you should know to enhance the experience of mobile, desktop, and Internet-based photo-sharing application.

Change/Remove Geolocation

When you want to remove or change the location of the picture uploaded. In the ‘Options’ of that particular post, go to Edit. Click the highlighted location name of that particular post and from there you can change or simply remove the location by not selecting any.

 

Looking to Save Data, but want Instagram too

With Instagram your data can be used a lot as it has to load pictures, videos, comments on the feed. To reduce your phone bill in other words to save your phone data, you can select an option of Use Less Data by going to Profile Settings > Cellular Data Use > Use less Data.

 

Liked posts but you are missing them?

You can see the photos you have liked by simply going to Profile Settings/Posts You’ve Liked. This feature works like a bookmark through which you can quickly see or show your past liked pictures or videos to your friends or relatives.

 

Want to save pictures and videos of Instagram?

  1. Install InstaSave App
  2. Open Instagram
  3. Go to post options (Three dots at the right top)
  4. Select ‘Copy Share URL’
You will get a notification of ‘This post’s sharable link has been copied to the clipboard’.

Go to InstaSaved option or Image Gallery of InstaSave Section, you will find your saved pictures and videos of Instagram, from there you can share pictures or videos to other platforms as well.

 

Hide Ads from Instagram feed

As you see sponsored ad on your feed, and the moment you feel it’s not relevant/appropriate or if you are bored of seeing the same advertisement again and again then you can hide that particular ad by going to Sponsored Ad options. Once you click on the options Hide Ad option will appear on the screen.

 

Other than this you can Clear Search History by going to profile settings and if you are looking to edit the caption of the post uploaded, go to post option/Edit and there you can edit the post caption as well.

Instagram now allows you to save your post as a draft, earlier you were sure to lose a post in case you pressed the back button but you are now prompted with the save option so that you can go back to adding more filters or write something at your convenience and post then post. With these many useful updated features one can easily make your profile more engaging and interesting.
